Good Times in Bad Ischl

Book your seats now for the most passionate and exciting concert of the spring.

A new friendship with clarinettist Richard Mühlfeld inspired a retired Johannes Brahms to take up his pen again. This propitious match led the composer to write some of his best chamber music. The famous Clarinet Quintet in B minor is a work of unrivaled sublimity, and is Brahms’ magnum opus.

Like Brahms, I made a new musical friend this year. The Sunshine Coast is buzzing with excitement because Daniel Kossov, one of the best violinists to ever set foot on Australian soil, has arrived in town. Over a bowl of noodles we made plans to bring together the best string players in the region to offer locals a musical indulgence so extravagant, Sardanapalus himself would call for restraint!

Kossov, Curtis Institute graduate and the former leader of WASO is joined by local legends Anna Mores (violin) and Daniel Williams (viola), and a rising star 'cellist who has recently returned to Queensland after training at ANAM, Daniel Chiou.

The king of Babylon called upon Daniel to interpret his dreams. One can only imagine what three Daniels on stage will make of my lustrous daydreams, and there is only one way to find out. Bookings are now open!
